Since I’ve come back from the States, my routine has been allll over the place. I’ve been falling asleep at 3 a.m. and then suffering when that dreaded alarm goes off a few hours later. It also means I’ve been keeping BW up past his bedtime every night this week telling him all about my holiday! Needless to say, he was absolutely exhausted come the weekend, so I decided to treat him to a nice and pleasant date as a way to say sorry. I ended up taking him all the way to Wembley to indulge in some teeny, tiny sliders!

Sugar Mill Desserts is an establishment whose main focus is on their delicious desserts, however they also offer an extensive and interesting a la carte food menu. From maple glazed chicken breast to pan seared salmon, this is no ordinary dessert cafe but one that provides delicious, gourmet food. Despite the various choices on their menu, we had come here for one thing, and for one thing only… sliders! Please note that the chicken, lamb, and beef is halal, however their beef steak is not.

After several calculations on how many sliders we could really eat, we finally settled on our order so here we go.

Cocomango [£4.25]
Cocomango [£4.25]

This is not the actual name of the mocktail but in fact, a simple concoction that BW requested. A coconut cream and mango puree based mocktail which was so delicious and reminded us of our honeymoon. The perfect drink for the awesome weather outside!

Beef and Blue Cheese (x2)

Of course, we start with the most important of all: the beef and blue cheese burger which was surprisingly underwhelming. Albeit the beef being well flavoured and juicy, the sharpness and saltiness of the blue cheese was lacking.

Lamb with Mint Yoghurt (x2)

Definitely my favourite of the bunch! The mini lamb patty was soft, succulent, and tender, and was cooked perfectly! The mint and cucumber yoghurt added a cooling, refreshing, and creamy texture to the already flavourful lamb patty.

Grilled Chicken
Grilled Chicken

A juicy chunk of chicken that was grilled and sandwiched with a sweet caramelised onion chutney. Everything in the burger fell together almost perfectly, but I felt the slider needed something a little extra; perhaps a hot sauce.

Breaded Chicken

The chicken had been deep-fried and served with a dollop of tangy barbeque sauce. To be honest, this one was pretty basic, and just like the grilled chicken, it needed something a little extra.

Battered Fish
Battered Fish

The fish fillet was a little too big for the burger however the batter was nice and crunchy, and the fish managed to maintain its’ structure the entire time. A little tartare sauce, instead of mayonnaise, would have given the fish that oomph that it needed, nonetheless, BW seemed to quite enjoy it!

Halloumi
Grilled Halloumi with Peppers

This was one of the better burgers; how could it not be, who doesn’t enjoy a big chunk of squidgy cheeseee! The halloumi was well cooked and was not overtly salty.

Mac and Cheese

Speaking of yummy, gooey cheese, you can’t beat a good old pot of creamy, cheesy pasta smothered in even more cheese. Just look at that meltiness!

We also opted for crunchy french fries that had been sprinkled with rosemary, and a house salad to get some green goodness into us!

The total bill amounted to approximately £35 for two people, including drinks and service, which is not bad at all considering the number of sliders and sides we had ordered. Just to point out that with the sliders, you are able to order a duo (£7.95) or the trio (£9.95), which both come with a side. These little guys were deceivingly filling and we just about managed to put away the final slider before admitting defeat, and sadly declining the dessert menu 🙁 Oh well, guess that means I get to visit again!

SAGAR SM 061

The food was definitely enjoyable however not one burger really pulled the wow factor for me. A shame considering the concept of the restaurant is pretty cool, and the perfect environment to take a bunch of friends, however there are plenty of other choices on the menu I have not had the chance to discover! Please also be aware that they do not serve certain items on stadium or arena event days so be sure to give them a ring to check what will be available.

As for my incurable jet lag, maybe eating all these burgers will put me into a delightful food coma and I’ll be able to pass out at a normal hour tonight!

These lil sliders look so cute. Been meaning to check this place out for a while, I’ve heard great things about their desserts.
