Having been a food blogger for almost two years, it hasn’t been an easy job pulling together five of my all time favourite restaurants. These establishments haven’t been handpicked just because their food is utterly delicious, there is a lot more to it than that with each of them offering something unique. So, without further ado, and in order of ranking, my top 5 favourite restaurants:
Asides from the food landing a perfect, and tasty, 10 out of 10 on my scale, the only 10 out of 10 on my scale (not entirely surprising given it has two Michelin stars and rated number 10 of the world’s best 50 restaurants); this was the restaurant BW had taken me to the first birthday I spent with him. Cheesy, but aside from the food, The Ledbury holds great sentimental value to me.
With their menu boasting my ultimate favourite dessert in the whole of London – the chocolate fondant – I am possibly one of their biggest fans. There’s nothing not to love about Novikov. Not only is the food great every time, what also draws me back though is the atmosphere; it’s fun, loud, and full of beautiful people.
Yes, there are plenty of other burger places in London, but Red Iron was the first burger joint review I did on my blog and my favourite of them all! The bacon and blue cheese burger is just amazing every time!
Tired of the same old halal gourmet burger joints opening up, I was craving something different yet still comforting, and that’s when I stumbled on Sticky Wings. Crunchy, yummy, tangy buffalo wings, jerk twist, chilli and barbeque wings, a real break from the norm. Also a big shout out to Sticky Wings who do not take tips, but instead welcome donations to ECHO, a children’s charity for the treatment of heart conditions.
The standard of food at this restaurant is overall one of the best I’ve experienced (indeed it does boast one Michelin star), especially their creamy burrata and crunchy crème brulee. It also happens to be the restaurant where I thought BW was going to propose to me, so when he slowly reached inside his jacket pocket I shuffled nervously (and excitedly) in my seat, only to find that he was reaching for his phone. To make matters worse, he repeated this twice more and I fell for it each time – an embarrassing but memorable meal. Sadly the London restaurant doesn’t offer halal food, but it’s definitely one to visit for a special night out next time you’re in Dubai.
